I DID IT! It’s Day 7 and I’ve made it through a full week of a SUGAR CLEANSE to combat my addiction to the beautiful white sparkly substance!
I admit, I’m super impressed with myself but I really couldn’t have done it alone. I needed guidance and support to pull me through…and the team at Cornerstone Naturopathic knew exactly how to help me but I have to say, it was nowhere near as difficult as I thought it was going to be.
Are you curious about doing a sugar detox and learning about the benefits? Check out the video with myself and Dr. Ben Connolly as he explains everything he did to help me this week…and why!
AND…since Dr. Ben says I’m allowed to have Guacamole (I thought I accidentally cheated with the lime juice)…I’ve included the recipe below!
A HUGE Thank You to the team at Cornerstone for making me feel so wonderful this week. I am super excited that we’ll be working together to get my health back in order and even though it’s only been a week…I really and truly feel like I’m headed in the right direction.
Now…onto the recipe…
Super Awesome and EASY Guacamole:
Homemade Guac is absolutely EASY to make and once you make it, you’ll never buy it from the store again!
Step 1 – Open the avocados and scoop out the flesh. An easy way is to cut the avocado length-wise around the pit then twist the two halves apart. Using a chef’s knife, strike the pit and twist the knife so you can easily remove the pit…then scoop out the flesh with a spoon!
Step 2 – Mash the flesh with a fork…I like mine a little bit chunky or you can mash it until it’s super smooth.
Step 3 – Stir in chopped tomatoes and onions then add lime juice, sea salt and pepper to taste (I like a whole lot of lime!) Oh…and also some garlic if you’d like!
Step 4 – If you like the taste of soap, add in a little cilantro! (I don’t taste the soapy taste but my oldest cannot stand the taste of cilantro so we’ve sort of gotten used to leaving it out of the guac!)
Typically I’d serve guacamole with nachos or crackers…BUT, since Dr. Ben took me off carbs, I used sliced cucumbers to scoop up the dip and to be honest, I even just scooped it right out of the bowl with a spoon!!!
ENJOY…and if you have any questions about the detox I’m on, make sure to ask in the comments!

I’m working on reducing sugar! Lots as so much sugar.
Good for you! And GOOD LUCK! It’s tough going through it but once that brain kicks in…it will be so much easier!
