There’s a crap-load of things that I’m grateful for.
Like bully beef hash.
Not that it’s on the top of my list or anything but oddly, it’s the first thing that came to mind.
To be honest, I’m not sure why it’s called “bully beef”… or “hash”… but it’s one of those things that reminds me of growing up in a house full of love that I’m thankful for.
Plus, I loved opening the corned beef tin as there’s something quite fascinating about that tiny “key.”
I’m grateful for my kids, my folks and extended family… but there’s more… those are given.
I’m thankful for curling up in bed with a good book. My dog. And laughter.
I’m thankful for the friends who surround me and the music that fills me.
I’m thankful for converse sneakers. Greek yogurt. And next door neighbours.
I’m thankful for the beautiful Bay with the velvety nose… his wonderful owners and amazing coach.
I’m grateful for time. Distance. And space. That combined… they’ve healed me.
I’m thankful that I know where I’m going… and who I want there with me.
I’m thankful for the same alarm clock that’s woken me since I opened it on my sixteenth birthday…though some days, I wish it woke me a little more pleasantly. Like maybe by bringing me a cup of tea… or giving me a wonderful back rub.
I’m thankful for the house I live in even with all the little marks on the walls that need repainting and the dust that seems to appear from nowhere. This house…has never been more alive.
I’m thankful for the gym I go to. To the new muscles that are showing up on a daily bases. My arms that are no longer jiggly and my butt that’s getting smaller. I’m thankful for the kickbacks and Arnold curls and lunges and crunches and all the ridiculous things I do in that gym that make me feel like super woman even though while I’m doing them… I look like an idiot.
I’m thankful for my nut-bar instructors and the classmates who fill the room. The ability to be creative. And the joy that fills me.
I’m thankful for my amazing girlfriends. I count my blessings daily that these women have taught me what “best friend” really means.
I’m thankful for you. This blog. That I found a place to write my thoughts and ramblings… where people actually listen… and care.
I’m thankful for a whole whack of things thrown into a pan and mixed together… like bully beef hash. And the amazing little key, that opens the can.
