About this post: How’s this “new normal” working for you? If you’re like me, there’s been a lot of overthinking and not enough relaxation so with that in mind, I’ve come up with a way to help you CHILL OUT! Music…it always fills the soul!
Twice in the last little bit, I woke up from the saddest dream imaginable. In both cases, I contacted the person I dreamt about…just to get reassurance that everything was fine.
Has that ever happened to you? Has a dream bothered you so much it can completely throw off your day?
What makes us dream the way we do?
Like everyone, I’ve had a lot on m mind these last few months. My sleep, social, and work patterns are completely thrown into this “new normal”…a phrase in itself that makes me anxious as I’m really more comfortable in the “old familiar” than this “new normal.”
I can completely understand having an “anxious” dream or even a nightmare…as so many things in my life have changed…but I’m a little thrown off by the “sadness”.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot and have worked to change a few things such as not “overworking”, getting better sleep, spending time with friends when I can, and going out for a few walks throughout the week…basically, I’ve been trying to CHILL OUT and stop overthinking everything!
We all need to go a little easier on ourselves and on the people around us. There have been so many changes and disappointments coming at us on a regular basis…mixed in with a few good changes as well…that regardless of how it’s all playing out for each person, change, at its very core, can be tough on people. Sad even.
Back in May, for my birthday, one of my best friends made me a Spotify playlist to help me relax. He added a number of my favourite songs that help to calm my heart…and included a few “worship” songs to fill my soul.
That playlist has saved me repeatedly as it completely allows me to slip into zen-mode! Somewhat like meditation does for others.
Whether it’s the middle of the night when I can’t sleep, with a cup of tea and my feet up, or through my earphones on a walk…this playlist is FANTASTIC for putting me in a relaxed mood.

We’re heading into a few busy months with the holidays…and yet, it’s all going to look a bit different than it has before and many of us are faced with not seeing those we love. So…while you’re adapting to this “new normal”…I wish you happy thoughts and an easy heart…stop overthinking, roll with the flow…and add a little chill music to the mix!
