If you’re like me, you’ve a couple of sports nuts in your family and you’re constantly planning your schedule around practices and games. For us, volleyball and hockey play a huge role in our daily lives.
While Bones is on the “injured list” from a concussion at the moment…taking a little break from physical activity…Spiderman is on a scoring roll and walking out of the dressing room after each game with a massive grin on his face.
Hockey has had its ups and downs…but we seem to be on a wave where he’s truly enjoying the game.
With the holidays upon us, it means a tournament over the break that will have us running back and forth to the rink while fitting in some family time and a few hot turkey sandwiches. It’s just the way it is and come this time next year, when he’s off to university and his “career” as a hockey player moves on to the “beer leagues”…I’ll miss this part of Christmas.
The part where we spend a whole lot of time in a rink…as a family…connecting over a game we truly love.

The Maple Leafs sweater made me laugh.
Great photo!
Isn’t that funny! Sport Chek sent it to me but Noah wore it to school for Ugly Sweater Day and oddly it looked rather good on him…plus the Leafs are his favourite team.
It’s a hockey Christmas at my house. All hockey all the time!
I’m going to miss it terribly when it’s over. While many are telling me that I’ll be able to get my social life back…weirdly, hockey IS a big part of my social life! With every tournament and game…I know it’s getting closer.
